Live Caregivers

Live-in Caregiver Program

The Live-in Caregiver Program (LCP) in Canada offers personal support workers the chance to work as live-in caregivers. To qualify, individuals must be capable of unsupervised care for children, the elderly, or disabled persons in private homes. Key requirements include:

A positive Labour Market Opinion (LMO) from a Canadian employer.
A signed written contract with the future employer.
Completion of education equivalent to Canadian secondary school.
At least six months of training or one year of full-time paid caregiving work experience within the last three years.
Proficiency in English or French.
A valid work permit before entering Canada.

This list is not exhaustive, and applicants may need to meet other criteria. Our consultants offer up-to-date information and guidance on the LCP, including assistance in obtaining the necessary education or qualifications, study permits, and placements in homes or care centers. Canadian Immigration Services is dedicated to facilitating your transition to Canada, providing comprehensive advice and support for a smooth start in your new role.
